Patrick and Katie met in March 2021 at the University of Dayton during one of UD’s famous Saturday “day drinks.” Although they had both graduated from UD in 2020 as marketing majors, their paths somehow never crossed. Katie had returned to campus to pursue her MBA after COVID shortened both of their senior years, while Patrick was back visiting friends for the weekend.

Introduced by a mutual friend (shoutout to Kennon!), they quickly realized just how intertwined their college lives had been. They lived in the same dorms, shared the same major, had many of the same friends, and Katie had even completed her senior capstone project with Patrick’s roommate and now one of his groomsmen — yet they had never officially met.

As it turned out, Katie was already planning to move to Cincinnati to continue her studies and begin her career, the place Patrick calls home. From that unexpected meeting on campus, the two have been inseparable ever since.
